Kaleigh McGee Simmons
Woodwind Specialist and Pianist
Performer – Teacher – Clarinet Repair Technician




Kaleigh McGee Simmons is a Columbus, Ohio-based performer on piano and multiple woodwinds including Flute/Piccolo, Eb/Bb/A/Bass Clarinet, Alto/Soprano Saxophone, and Oboe. She has experience as a soloist in both recital and orchestral settings.
Kaleigh currently serves as the adjunct clarinet professor and collaborative pianist at Muskingum University. At Muskingum, Kaleigh teaches private clarinet lessons, clarinet choir, and woodwind methods and pedagogy. As a pianist at Muskingum, Kaleigh accompanies the two University Choirs and accompanies students for all juries and recitals.
Kaleigh is an avid chamber musician as well, serving as co-founder and clarinetist for the woodwind group Zephyr Chamber Winds and Kohesion Trio. Zephyr Chamber Winds performs at a variety of venues, including high schools, universities, metro parks, and other venues such as Polaris Fashion Place. As an ensemble, they have been invited to serve as guest artists at a variety of universities throughout Ohio, Kentucky, and Tennessee. Kaleigh is vice president of the Collegium Musicum of Ohio, a local chamber group that she performs with as a soloist on various instruments.
She received her Bachelor of Music at Auburn University and her graduate degrees (Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts) at The Ohio State University. During her graduate studies, Kaleigh was honored with a University Fellowship and held a position as the Clarinet Studio Graduate Teaching Assistant at The Ohio State University. She serves as an instructor with the Community Music School at The Ohio State University and teaches her own private students on multiple woodwinds and piano.
As a woodwind doubler, Kaleigh performs in several musical pit orchestras. She has experience as a rehearsal pianist for community theaters and has performed on solo piano at many wedding ceremonies and receptions. Thanks to her apprenticeship at Buckeye Brass and Winds, Kaleigh is a clarinet repair technician and spends her time fixing clarinets when she is not performing or teaching.
